Process Design
Objective
To reduce risk and improve efficiency by designing and implementing processes and controls.
How it works
We evaluate the inputs, processes, and outputs of each area step for the process in question. Existing processes and controls are compared to best practices, desired outcomes, expected efficiencies, and our risk map to locate process gaps. New processes are designed, summarized, and proposed. Once approved in theory then we build out detailed steps, flowcharts, and other guides to help the end user build the process to management’s expectation.
Approach
- We gain a clear understanding of the end game through discussions.
- Research practices and comparable processes to determine how processes should work.
- Observe existing processes, policies, and procedures.
- Inventory each step of the proposed new system or process.
- Outline expected management controls required across the inputs, processes, and outputs.
- Discuss the proposed approach with management and stakeholders.
- Detail the proposed process design in flowcharts and other executive summaries.
- Discuss with management and make final edits.
- Obtain final approval of the detailed design.
What we deliver
- A proposed high-level approach to the new process.
- Final proposed process and control design along with supporting documentation such as flowcharts, process summaries and process details.
- Inventory of key management information required to support the successful execution of this new process.
